The New York Yankees made another notable move in the offseason by signing former NL MVP Paul Goldschmidt following their World Series defeat against the Los Angeles Dodgers in October.
Goldschmidt is one of several players to join the Bronx Bombers, joining All-Star ace Max Fried, closer Devin Williams and All-Star slugger Cody Bellinger, signed or traded in the offseason so far.
Following the slew of moves in the offseason, sportscaster Michael Kay made a bold claim on YES Network, saying:
"The people they brought in have made the team better. If you want to go break down each thing that they've done, it's made them better. Max Fried is an excellent starting pitcher. Devin Williams is one of the best relievers in baseball. Bellinger, obviously, has had an MVP on his wall, had a decent year this year.
