Stephon Castle and the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. The rookie, who missed Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers due to a shoulder contusion, returned to action. Castle, a fixture in the starting lineup before the injury, came off the bench.
The former UConn star came in for Julian Champagnie midway through the first quarter. He missed a 3-pointer and dished out an assist, but committed two turnovers. San Antonio trailed 28-19 after the first 12 minutes as Anthony Edwards sizzled in the early going.
Castle started the second quarter and also finished the period. He mostly ran the offense with Chris Paul and guarded Mike Conley. The Spurs faced a 52-37 deficit at halftime.
