Sergio Perez found the tire behavior during Singapore GP qualifying unpredictable and difficult to understand. Speaking to media, including Sportskeeda, after the session, the Red Bull driver expressed frustration over poor grip and brake temperature issues that hampered his performance.
Knocked out in Q2, Perez could only manage 13th on the grid, a stark contrast to his teammate Max Verstappen, who starts on the front row. Reflecting on the session, he attributed much of the struggle to the tricky tire conditions. He admitted to making a mistake at Turn 13 on his final lap but emphasized that a lack of grip and brake temperature problems played a significant role.
Perez noted that he, along with other drivers, was puzzled by the tire behavior in the humid conditions, comparing it to the challenging qualifying session in Miami. He highlighted how the peakiness of the tires, combined with grip fluctuations and track evolution, made for a tough outing.
