Lewis Hamilton's wretched run of form in Qualifying continued in Brazil as the Mercedes driver failed to make it past Q1 at the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Hamilton was out of the session after his final flying lap was not enough to push him through to Q2, leaving him frustrated with his Mercedes.
Hamilton clocked 1:31.150 as his best lap in Q1, and unfortunately, he was slower by nearly two-tenths compared to McLaren's Lando Norris, the driver in 15th. Along with Hamilton, Oliver Bearman, Franco Colapinto, Nico Hülkenberg, and Zhou Guanyu saw their qualifying come to an end in Q1.
The rainy qualifying session on Sunday has put drivers in enormous difficulty as they struggle to get going at Interlagos. Multiple drivers lost control of their cars and hit the barriers, such as Colapinto in Q1, and Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll in Q2.
