Travis Kelce was nominated for the NFL's prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year award earlier this week. The award recognizes philanthropic gestures, and Kelce is one of 32 nominees, with each team selecting a player. The tight end established his "Eight-Seven & Running" foundation in 2015 to support Kansas City youth.
During Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast, Kelce shared his reaction to the nomination and thanked Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his family for their contributions in helping Kelce win the recognition:
"It is a huge award. I love getting out here in the Kansas City community. Man, I really do. They show up for each other so much, and they do it with so much pride. And, you know, that's the beauty of having that relationship with the community was. It's always to, you know, try and make a better world for the ones that support you on game day.
