Vietnam host Singapore for the second leg of their clash in the 2024 ASEAN Championship semi-finals, as they aim to get the job done and confirm their place in the finals. The Golden Star Warriors prevailed 2-0 away from home in the first encounter on Thursday.
Nguyen Tien Linh struck a penalty in the 11th minute of stoppage time before Nguyen Xuan Son doubled their advantage three minutes later.
Despite finishing with only 33% of possession, Kim Sang-sik's side were lethal and their persistence eventually paid off as they were able to break down a stoic Singapore side.
With that, they have one foot in next week's showpiece encounter, as Vietnam only need a draw here to advance. The winner of the tie will face either the Philippines or Thailand.
