Vietnam host Thailand at the Việt Trì Stadium on Thursday for the first leg of their clash in the 2024 ASEAN Championship finals. The return leg is scheduled for Sunday in Bangkok.
Having gone their entire campaign unbeaten, the Golden Star Warriors are the favorites to be crowned champions. They waltzed through their group with three wins and a draw, before seeing off Singapore in the last-four.
Kim Sang-sik's side won the first leg 2-0 after netting twice in stoppage time. In the second leg, they completed the double with a 3-1 victory on home turf and cantered into the finals by clinching the tie 5-1 on aggregate.
