When the word 'shoey' pops up within the motorsports fraternity, one can directly link it to Daniel Ricciardo. Over the years, the Aussie F1 star has made drinking from shoes so popular that his fellow drivers and celebrities often get involved in the spirit. One such man is Hollywood star Sir Patrick Stewart, who took part in Ricciardo's customary celebration in 2017.
When Daniel Ricciardo held off Sebastian Vettel to claim the podium at the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix, he had no idea about what was about to come from Sir Stewart. The actor, who was present at the presentation ceremony after the Montreal race, stunned the eight-time Grand Prix winner as he indulged himself with a beer and boot.
It all started with Ricciardo, who, after claiming P3 with Red Bull in Canada, got into the mood to carry out the customary tradition. As soon as he was done, he asked Sir Stewart if he was interested in joining.
