The Houston Astros have made their intentions clear regarding re-signing Alex Bregman. The infielder is currently a free agent and is considering leaving Space City if the right price comes along.
Ahead of the Winter Meetings in Dallas, manager Joe Espada spoke to reporters about getting Bregman to sign an extension with the team as soon as possible. He referred to Bregman as their "priority" in rounding out the roster for next season.
“We're doing everything in our power to get that done,” Espada said. “I know what he represents, what he means to this organization. I think Dana and the staff and all of us are on the same page in making this our No. 1 priority. So we are trying really hard to bring Alex Bregman back.”
