The New York Mets have changed the MLB landscape by landing All-Star slugger Juan Soto in unrestricted free agency. The club was able to pull a massive coup over their in-city rivals, the New York Yankees, by handing out a record-breaking 15-year $765 million deal to the former World Series champion.
While the New York Mets were able to land the biggest fish in free agency, there are still some lingering questions about whether or not they are considered favorites for the World Series. Even with Soto bringing world-class ability to the team, there are still some areas that need to be addressed. Given the nature of the its contracts, it may need to get creative on the free agent or trade market.
