Former seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher shared some advice with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on the occasion of the latter's retirement in 2013. The two iconic sportsmen had a longer-standing association, having first met in 2002 when the German driver gifted a Ferrari to the Indian cricket superstar.
Considered to be the greatest cricketer by many, the Mumbai native announced his retirement from the sport after 24 years on November 16, 2013, at his home stadium. Among the outpouring of love from fans and sportspeople in his country and worldwide, the former Ferrari driver congratulated the $200 million-worth Tendulkar as well.
Schumacher gave some reflective advice to Tendulkar on the occasion. The F1 legend, who had hung up his helmet in 2012, said in an email (via NDTV),
