With the LA Lakers desperately in need of upgrades, potentially another star, De'Aaron Fox, is one of the names that hit the fanbase's wishlist. Fox is still under contract with the Sacramento Kings. However, with the Lakers' division rivals in dire straits with a 13-17 record, ranked 12th in the West, there are reports that Fox might contemplate leaving the Kings.
According to The Athletic's report from Saturday, Fox and his agent, Rich Paul, who is also LeBron James' agent, met with the Kings executives amid the team's underwhelming run. Fox also declined a three-year $165 million extension last summer to see how things unfold in Sac-Town before he commits long-term to the franchise that drafted him eight years ago.
He still has one year on his contract after this season. That said, if the Kings were to move on, they would likely trade him and avoid losing him for nothing in 2026 free agency.
