The Showdown, which will take place on December 17 in Las Vegas, will go down in history as the first event to pit a PGA Tour team against a LIV Golf team. But that will not be its only historical achievement.

The event, which will pit Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy against Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, will also be the first in professional golf history to have its purse denominated in critocurrency. A report from Front Office Sports claims that the purse will be $10 million and will be delivered in a cryptocurrency called CRO.
