The WM Phoenix Open has announced a 'zero tolerance' policy against the unruly behavior of the fans for the 2025 edition of the tournament. The PGA Tour event was in the headlines in 2024 after a video of fans drinking too much on the greens on the internet went viral.
The WM Phoenix Open has recently announced a few changes in its policy to avoid this next year. They have implemented a 'zero tolerance' policy. Speaking of the changes, the tournament director Matt Mooney said (via Golf Week):
"Our general admission fans will have to click on a code of conduct acknowledgment and we’re going to have a zero-tolerance policy for people that cross those procedures. Unfortunately, there’s a small segment of our society that wants to create these viral moments and it’s to the detriment of the event, the detriment of the other fans and most importantly the athletes themselves.
